Energy Efficiency
Maia Consulting has been working in energy efficiency since the 1990’s. Our experience encompasses project management, policy development, research, technical reports, surveys and program design. Our research has be used in policy development and has contributed to a variety of government energy efficiency strategies. We have worked with international committees, government representatives and industry and consumer organisations. Our research has improved the energy efficiency of domestic appliances and has been influential in establishing research methodologies and international policy outcomes.
Examples of energy efficiency projects include:
- Network standby research – Methodology testing to trial the possibilities for measurement of network standby power wastage;
- Australian retail store surveys (2001-2012) – In-store surveys of the standby power consumption of electrical appliances;
- Project management for international energy efficiency committees – International Energy Agency (IEA) Standby Power Annex, Asia Pacific Partnership on clean development and climate (APP), Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) standby project;
- Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) Standby Power Forum with Australian government and industry representatives;
- Research into emerging environmental technologies – Sustainability Victoria;
- Pre-market field trial of a new product for a commercial manufacturer;
- Energy efficiency fact sheets for residential, commercial and industrial audiences for the Australian Government;
- Towards 1 Watt - APEC International Standby Power Conference in Japan.
