Social Research
Maia Consulting team has strong social equity values and has been involved in social and policy research projects for over twenty years. This has included working with all levels of society from the slum dwellers in India to the High Commissioner in Malaysia. Our skills in this area include the ability to elicit information in a sensitive way through interviews, focus groups and other consultation techniques. For one particular research project slum dwellers in India were interviewed to understand their perceptions of poverty and disadvantage as part of a poverty alleviation study. The Maia Consulting team have provided support and mentoring to the Koori Maternity Services Project Manager/Midwife in Morwell as she established herself as a community practitioner.

- Administration and Mentoring Support for Ramahyuck Koori Maternity Services, Morwell;
- Education and Screening Clinic at Port Philip High Security Prison, Victoria;
- Global Jamboree Multicultural Community Event for Footscray Primary School and Maribyrnong Council for five successive years;
- Community Liaison Officer for the Australian High Commission in Malaysia;
- Assisting Sudanese Refugees with English classes and playgroup facilitation.
